OPEN creative residencIES at casa almeda

Ongoing residencies, except for when retreats are taking place. These are week-long ongoing creative residencies, from Wednesday 4pm to the following Wednesday 10am. Multiple week residencies are possible.

This residency provides artists with a peaceful and supportive environment to focus on their creative journey, whether you’re trying new mediums, exploring unconventional concepts, or pushing against your own boundaries — a safe space for growth and artistic exploration.

Immerse yourself in the rhythms of slow living in rural Catalonia — this residency emphasizes space to think, time to breathe, walk, swim in the sea, and an environment crafted to nurture creative flow against the backdrop of the forested La Selva landscape. 

There are 4 residency rooms available at Casa Almeda, so there will very likely be other creatives on residencies at the same time. There are communal spaces where we encourage an atmosphere of mutual creative support and encouragement.

Casa Almeda has a beautiful garden with sweeping views over the forested valley to the Garrotxa mountains and the Pyrenees in the far distance. There are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the peace and birdsong. The sunsets are spectacular.

Each of the large rooms has a dedicated workspace. The retreats are self catering. Please note the swimming pool is not accessible during residencies, only during our 6 day retreats.

The average price for a room/ workspace is €700 per week for single occupancy. €500 p/p per week for double occupancy - this is a good way to collaborate. Another more private way to collaborate is to book a room each for a residency.

Note, you can bring a ‘non-participating partner’ on a residency, and they are free to do their own thing around the house, the grounds and to explore the local area.

Also note there is ample free parking at Casa Almeda.
